Charger precautions
The memory effect of rechargeable batteries, when the memory effect gradually accumulates, will greatly reduce the actual use capacity of the battery. To reduce the negative effects of the memory effect, an effective way is to discharge. Generally speaking, since the memory effect of nickel-cadmium batteries is more obvious, it is recommended to discharge them after repeated charging and use for 5-10 times, while the memory effect of nickel-metal hydride batteries is not so obvious, and they can be discharged after repeated charging and use for 20-30 times. Some high-end chargers sold on the market have their own discharge function, but most of the low-end and medium-end chargers do not have a discharge function. What should I do at this time? After understanding the principle of discharge, you can also try to discharge the battery yourself.
The nominal voltage of nickel-cadmium batteries and nickel-metal hydride batteries is 1.2V, but in fact, the battery voltage is a variable value, and it fluctuates around 1.2V depending on whether the power is sufficient. Generally, it fluctuates between 1V-1.4V. Due to different processes, the voltage fluctuation range of batteries of different brands is not completely consistent.
To discharge the battery is to use a very small discharge current to slowly reduce the battery voltage. When it drops to between 0.9V-1V, the discharge should be stopped. It is not recommended to discharge the battery below 0.9V, as this will cause over-discharge and irreversible damage to the battery. Rechargeable batteries are not suitable for use in home appliance remote controls because the current used in remote controls is very small. Long-term use in remote controls can easily cause over-discharge. After a correct discharge of the battery, you will be surprised to find that the battery capacity has returned to its original level. Therefore, when you find that the battery capacity has decreased, it is best to discharge it once.
There is a simple way to discharge the battery yourself, which is to connect a small electric bead as a load, but you must use an ammeter to monitor the change in voltage value to prevent over-discharge.
For the choice of charger, whether to choose a fast charger or a slow constant current charger depends mainly on your focus. For example, friends who often go out and use digital cameras and other devices should choose a fast charger to meet the time requirements, and can even buy ultra-high-speed chargers, while friends who only use devices such as walkmans can use constant current chargers to meet their needs.
After mastering the correct knowledge of charging and discharging, everyone will be able to use their rechargeable batteries better. Please don’t stick to fast charging.
Do not place the mobile phone charger in humid or high temperature conditions, which will reduce the service life of the mobile phone charger.
During the charging process, there will be a certain amount of heating. At normal room temperature, as long as it does not exceed 60 degrees Celsius, it is a normal display and will not damage the battery. Since the style of the mobile phone and the charging time are inconsistent, this has nothing to do with the charging performance of the mobile phone charger.
